Every designer has been there. One second, you're chipping away at a set of concept sketches and you notice something... "suggestive" about one of the sketches. Usually, the next step is to cross that one out and keep plugging away. But once in a while, the call of possibility and procrastination becomes too powerful, and you end up making a fake logo for the OG of cool kids in middle school who didn't actually skate: Spitfire.

The illustration came first, but after that, I wanted to play with some type too. Since I was still on a deadline, it was a good time to drop everything and experiment with the typography for a fake logo. The original goal was just to find some hellish blacklettering to round out the design, but after some messing around, I ended up with a sexy little ambigram that, honestly, surpassed the actual illustration as my favorite part of this rabbit hole of a project.
