PPSC Aardvark Mascot

Did I ever tell you about the time(s) I gave the Aardvark Mascot for Pikes Peak State College a glow up?

It’s the beautiful boy.

But he has a dark secret.

He was not always this tall.

After Chatting with the client, I submitted a few directions to consider for Arnie 2.0. they loved vintage mascots but when we looked over options they also gravitated towards the edgy sporty look as well. So we combined them.

We started with the head to lock in the look. We got friendlier, then we got pointier, then we got swooshier. (I swear the actual conversations were much more refined but you get the gist.)

Next, we give that boy some body tea. I started with some rough sketches that were a little rounder and more cartoonish but I was also asked to include a more athletic direction and once that absolutely yoked up Arnie hit the table it was game over.

In the end I provided them two standing poses and we chose a generic sporty outfit to avoid implying any one sports team was being repped. And then the website got a chatbot, and so we got to add RoboArnie to the roster as well!

Arnie 2.0

As the years rolled by, the team decided they would like Arnie to expand his horizons a little and explore more of their career pathways. While we were at it, we decided to get his sister, SURPRISE TWIST, HE HAS A TWIN, Annie, in on the action. This Arnie is in touch with his feelings and ready, as he is affectionately dubbed at the college. This Arnie is in touch with his feelings and ready to matriculate, baby.

BONUS! Enjoy these lovely sketches of our beautiful babies before I threw them into my evil laboratory of Adobe Illustrator to make them all sharp and vector-y.
